Skill sharing opportunity/workshop 

 🌟 Share Your Skills – Help Build a Creative Community! 🎨🛠️
We're inviting passionate makers, artists, and creatives to volunteer their time and skills to support our Space Induction program. This is a chance to help others safely and confidently use our tools and spaces, while passing on your knowledge in a friendly, welcoming way.
Do you have experience in any of the following areas?
  • Printing Press Induction
  • Screen Printing
  • Craft Techniques
  • Weaving
  • Felting
  • Oil Painting
  • Watercolour or Acrylic Painting
  • Sewing
  • Eco Dyeing
  • Sculpture
  • Clay Work
  • Printmaking
  • Collage
We’re not looking for formal teachers – just friendly people who love to share and guide others. Whether you're confident leading a short demo or just happy to answer questions, your help makes a big difference.

We love when members share what they know — whether it’s painting, sewing, printmaking, or something totally unique.
All members are encouraged to run skill-sharing sessions or casual workshops.

👥 For Members-Only Sessions
Want to share something with other members during your usual studio time?
It’s easy! Just post a quick note in the Makers’ Space Members Facebook group or Messenger chat to let others know what you’ll be doing and invite them to join in.

🌱 Want to Invite the Wider Community?
​If you’d like to offer a workshop that’s open to the public:
  1. Contact the Bookings Coordinator
    • Fill out the booking form for 99a Gellibrand Street
    • Or email us at [email protected]
We’ll help you:
✔ Confirm space availability (99a or Makers’ Shed)
✔ Add your workshop to our event calendar, website, and newsletter (if you like)

🛠️ Workshop Organiser’s To-Do List If you're running a community workshop, here’s what you'll need to do:
  1. Promote your event
    • Create a flyer or post using Canva
    • Share on our website and Facebook pages
    • Need help? Ask a member or check out How to use Canva
  2. Decide how people join
    • Can they just turn up?
    • Or do they need to register (e.g. via email, Eventbrite, etc.)?
  3. After the session
    • Leave the space tidy
    • Switch off lights and the aircon/heater (make sure the aircon light goes out)
    • If you're there outside regular hours, reset the security alarm

​The Colac Makers' Space is primarily an art space offering the community the opportunity to use the space to create their own work, it also offers creative drop-in sessions, affordable workshops, talks and exhibitions for all artists and makers- beginner or experienced and we welcome new members
