Natural Dyers — Monday from 1pm in the Makers Shed

Natural Dyers is a gentle, exploratory session for anyone interested in plant dyes, colour, and traditional dyeing practices. It’s a self‑directed space where you can work on your own dye projects, experiment with botanicals, or share knowledge with other dyers.

What you can do
  • Dye fabric, yarn, or fibre using natural materials
  • Experiment with colour and simple dye techniques
  • Use the communal indigo vats (small charge applies)
  • Connect with others who enjoy slow, thoughtful making
Materials
  • Bring your own fibres, fabrics, and dye materials
  • Indigo vat use is available for a small fee to help maintain and refresh the vats
  • Some shared tools and equipment are available
Pricing
  • Members: Free (plus small charge for indigo vat use)
  • Non‑members: $20 per session (plus small charge for indigo vat use)​
The Colac Makers' Space is primarily an art space that offers our community a place to create their own work. We also run creative drop‑in sessions, affordable workshops, talks, and exhibitions for artists and makers of all experience levels — from complete beginners to established practitioners. We warmly welcome new members who want to learn, experiment, and connect with others in a supportive creative environment.​
