Natural Dyeing

Natural Dyers — Monday from 1pm in the Makers Shed

Natural Dyers is a gentle, exploratory session for anyone interested in plant dyes, colour, and traditional dyeing practices. It’s a self‑directed space where you can work on your own dye projects, experiment with botanicals, or share knowledge with other dyers.

What you can do

Dye fabric, yarn, or fibre using natural materials
Experiment with colour and simple dye techniques
Use the communal indigo vats (small charge applies)
Connect with others who enjoy slow, thoughtful making

Materials

Bring your own fibres, fabrics, and dye materials
Indigo vat use is available for a small fee to help maintain and refresh the vats
Some shared tools and equipment are available

Pricing

Members: Free (plus small charge for indigo vat use)
Non‑members: $20 per session (plus small charge for indigo vat use)

The Colac Makers' Space is primarily an art space that offers our community a place to create their own work. We also run creative drop‑in sessions, affordable workshops, talks, and exhibitions for artists and makers of all experience levels — from complete beginners to established practitioners. We warmly welcome new members who want to learn, experiment, and connect with others in a supportive creative environment.
