Looking to run a workshop, hold a meeting, or just need a quiet place to focus? The Makers’ Space is also available for private hire — open to members and non-members.
You might hire the space for:
✔️ Creative workshops (art, craft, writing, etc.)
✔️ Team meetings or community gatherings
✔️ Solo project time or professional use

📝 How to Book (Private Hire)

1. Fill out the booking request form
   Let us know the type of booking and your preferred date(s).
2. Our Bookings Coordinator will:
   • Confirm availability
   • Let you know the cost (if any)
   • Add the booking to our shared calendar
   • Pass on enquiries if you're running a public event
   • Confirm start & finish times with you

💰 Private Hire Fees

• Half Day:
  • Members: by donation
  • Non-members: $50
• Full Day:
  • Members: by donation
  • Non-members: $100

Fees help us cover power, supplies, and maintenance — thank you!

✅ Step-by-step Guide
​1. Create your promo material
Use a clear PDF or JPEG with all the key info (title, time, cost, how to book).
Need help? One of our members can assist you, or check out this Canva tutorial.
2. Spread the word
Share your event via social media, emails, flyers — and don’t underestimate word of mouth!
3. Decide how to handle bookings
Registrations are your responsibility — whether it’s via email, a form, or platforms like Eventbrite.
4. Confirm your numbers
Make sure you have enough participants to make your event a success.
5. Set up and run your event
Come in early to prepare the space the way you need it.
6. Pack up properly afterwards
Please help us keep the space clean and welcoming for others:

• Tidy up your area
• Turn off lights & air conditioning (double-check the aircon light is off!)
• Reset the security alarm if you’re leaving after hours
